SHORT SERMON ISNT THE MESSAGE

🎀 Short Sermon: “When the Microphone Isn’t the Message”

Key Scripture:

“Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord.” – 4:6

Introduction: The Illusion of the Microphone

We often think the power is in the microphone.
If it’s loud, clear, and working—then the message will be effective.

But God is teaching us something deeper:

The microphone is not the message.
The condition of the heart and the power of the Spirit are.

Let’s walk through a few moments…

🎀 1. The Forgotten Microphone — God Uses Small Voices

A janitor whispered, “Jesus loves you,” into a microphone he thought no one could hear.
But someone heard it at the exact moment they needed it.

“My word… will not return to me empty.” – 55:11

God doesn’t need a stage to speak.

πŸ”₯ Truth: A whisper in obedience can become a life-changing broadcast.

🎀 2. The Cracked Microphone — God Fixes the Heart First

A broken microphone distorted every word.
God said, “The real problem isn’t the mic—it’s the heart.”

“Create in me a clean heart…” – 51:10

You can have a strong voice but a polluted spirit—and the message will still be unclear.

πŸ”₯ Truth: God prepares the vessel before He amplifies the voice.

🎀 3. The Muted Microphone — God Doesn’t Need Help to Move

A preacher spoke powerfully—but the microphone was muted.
Still, people came forward, hearts broken and changed.

That means something greater was happening.

“Not by might… but by my Spirit…” – 4:6

πŸ”₯ Truth: When God moves, even silence becomes loud.

🎀 4. The Interrupted Message — Nothing Stops God’s Word

The microphone suddenly stopped mid-sermon.
But the preacher kept going—and faith filled the room.

“My words will never pass away.” – 24:35

The devil may try to interrupt, but he cannot cancel what God has spoken.

πŸ”₯ Truth: God’s voice outlives every interruption.

🎀 5. The Microphone Hog — Preparation Matters

A man always wanted the microphone.
When he finally got it, he had nothing to say.

“Study to show yourself approved…” – 2:15

Many want the platform—but few prepare for the responsibility.

πŸ”₯ Truth: God doesn’t just give microphones—He looks for readiness.

🎀 6. The Microphone Test — God Is Always Listening

Someone casually said, “Testing, testing.”
But someone else felt like God was testing their heart.

“Examine yourselves…” – 13:5

Every moment is a test.
Every word is a broadcast.

πŸ”₯ Truth: Your life is always on the microphone.

πŸ”₯ Closing: Your Life Is the Microphone

Here is what God is saying today:

  • You may not hold a physical microphone…
  • You may not stand on a stage…
  • You may not have a crowd…

But your life is speaking every day.

People are listening to:

  • how you respond under pressure
  • how you speak in private
  • how you live when no one is watching

And God is asking:

“If I amplify your life right now… what would people hear?”

πŸ™ Closing Prayer

“Lord, purify my heart before You amplify my voice.
Let my life speak truth, faith, and love.
Even when I whisper, let it carry power.
Use me as Your microphone in this world.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

SANCTIFICATION 3

What Does it Mean to Be Sanctified? Bethany Verrett 2020 7 Oct What Does Sanctification Mean? Slide 1 of 5 Sanctification is the result of having the  Holy Spirit  indwelling in the believer. It can only happen after a sinner has repented of their sin and accepted the love and offer of forgiveness from Jesus Christ. The definition of sanctify is, “to make holy; set apart as sacred; consecrate; to purify or free from sin; to impart religious sanction to; render legitimate or binding; to entitle to reverence or respect; to make productive of or conducive to spiritual blessing.” In the Christian  faith , this process of being made holy is the internal transformation of becoming more like Jesus. As God incarnate, made human, Jesus Christ lived a perfect life, completely aligned with the will of the Father. All other people, by contrast, were born into sin, and do not know how to live perfectly in the will of God. Even believers, who have been saved from living under th...

Larry Moyer offers three popular frustrations about preaching that people often keep to themselves. Scripture:  None Tags:  None After the dinner, the speaker and master of ceremonies were standing in the lobby greeting the people who had attended. A six-year-old boy ran up to the speaker and said, “Your speech stunk.” Embarrassed, the master of ceremonies asked the boy to run along. But the boy ran right up to the speaker again and said, “We’ve heard all your jokes before; they’re not even funny.” Embarrassed, the master of ceremonies again asked the boy to run along. But he ran right up to the speaker again and said, “I bet you they never invite you back.” Just then the boy’s mother, who was standing a short ...
